HAITI CURE: Rebuilding a Nation in Need from the Inside Out

Dru Dodson, GO2's Director of Intergrated Ministries, has forged an alliance with three reputable ministries to take Haiti to new levels.  He explains:

"I went to Haiti in August 2010. I've been back now about 6 times. The first impression is overwhelming despair. 'Let's just bulldoze the place and start over' is the feeling I got. But I've found two things that got under my skin and gave me hope for that hellhole. The first is Haitians who are tired of handouts, tired of being the poorest country on this side of the world, and who want to build a new nation. I've met a lot of Haitian followers of Jesus who have chosen to get involved and get proactive, whether anyone else helps or not.

Second, I've made alliances with three trustworthy ministries who are taking the long view, not the quick handout view. World Vision, Partners Worldwide, and The Antioch School. Together we've put together an initiative called Haiti Cure. It's a sponsorship idea for Haitian 'Children, their Parents, their Pastors.' The idea is to sponsor community development through World Vision for the Children, job creation through Partners Worldwide for their Parents, and accredited training through The Antioch School for their Pastors.

We could use your help in spreading the word! It has proven difficult to get churches involved with a 'cold call.' We are taking Haiti Cure straight to the public in my hometown of Hot Springs through local media advertising and social media. This video was created locally just for this effort. It's about 11 minutes long and covers the idea and all three partners.

But the main thing I'd like you to consider doing is help spread the word. Share this blog post with your friends and colleagues. Help me get it out there, help me raise some awareness. And if you've got some room in your budget, go there yourself and Sponsor one of the Children, their Parents, or their Pastors!

Thanks and God bless!"

Circle of the Day - #428 Ithaca, NY

Ithaca, NY is located in the scenic Finger Lakes region and has more restaurants per capita than New York City.  Based on this alone, there are surely many with needs and concerns who need prayer.  Learn more about Circle of Grace #428 here.  Visit www.GO2Ministries.com/pray to choose your Circle of Grace.

Please pray for Jim Snavely, our GO2 National Church Planting Director, who has been struggling with severe back pain for some time. The medical team has discovered what is wrong and now needs to implement a care plan for Jim. Thanks for remembering this faithful servant of the Lord in your prayers! Ask God to grant wisdom to those attending Jim on next steps.

Equipping Churches via E-Net

E-Net (a network of Equipping Churches), is dedicated to awakening churches to the challenge of equipping ALL the saints for the work of the ministry, seeing every believer become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness in Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16). E-Net is the result of the work of an enduring visionary leadership community that was initiated at the 2010 FGBC Conference in Cincinnati Ohio focusing on the leadership development dimension of our commitment to common ministry. Building Momentum

It was great meeting all the young people and Youth Pastors who attended the FGBC's MOMENTUM YOUTH CONFERENCE this past week!  We hope you all had safe journeys home and that the spiritual momentum you left with will ease into a steady groove of an ever-growing relationship with Christ.

We're thrilled with the reception of our Decade of Multiplication Prayer Initiative. We hope you were able to get a free flashlight and that it'll be a reminder to keep your Circle of Grace in prayer. What's that? You haven't selected one just yet?  That's ok - with 1,765 Circles of Grace, there are plenty to go around.  Visit www.go2ministries.com/pray to choose your circle.

We also hope you had the chance to learn about our alliance with Grounds 4 Good Coffee.  It's an ideal fundraising opportunity (Hey, it's never too early to start earning money for the trip to Momentum 2012!). Even better, while your Youth Group or organization are earning money, coffee farmers in Laos are earning above fair trade value for the coffee. Win-win!  Contact us at info@go2ministries.net if you'd like to learn more.

Most of all, our prayer is that the momentum of Momentum will indeed stay with you, that the post-conference glow will fade into a strong contentment in the Lord.  GO2 Ministries believes this is all anchored in prayer. Prayer for a closer relationship with Christ, prayer for those around us. prayer for all.
